We are pleased to announce the Final Conference of the TOURing Project, titled “Navigating the Twin Transition: Upskilling & Reskilling for the Future of Tourism”, which will take place on December 5, 2024 in Brussels.
The TOURing project, developed under the Pact for Skills, is dedicated to supporting the green and digital transformation of the tourism sector by focusing on upskilling and reskilling the workforce, especially within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which form the backbone of the tourism industry. This conference will explore the critical role that education, skills development, and innovation play in ensuring the tourism sector’s resilience and long-term sustainability.
Key themes of the conference will include:
- The latest EU tourism policies and progress on the Transition Pathway for Tourism, which aims to help the sector recover and thrive amidst digital and green transitions.
- Regional skills partnerships and upskilling strategies designed to address the specific needs of SMEs within the tourism ecosystem.
- Insights and outcomes from the TOURing project, which has been integral in shaping skills development initiatives in line with EU sustainability goals.
- The role of the Pact for Skills in promoting collaboration across sectors and regions to support a more resilient tourism workforce.
This event will provide an opportunity for tourism and education stakeholders to engage in discussions, share best practices, and learn about the ongoing efforts to drive the digital and green transformation of the tourism sector.
